Something Different for Your Wedding Stationery

When it comes to Wedding Stationery, many couples are looking for something that’s reflective of them as a couple, but also something different to many other invitations they’ve seen and received. Caledonian Cowgirl offers modern, contemporary and stylish Wedding stationery to couples who are looking for something that bit different, creating bespoke designs based on the needs of each client.

Caledonian Cowgirl is run by Fiona Gauld, a professional graphic designer who has worked in the design industry for over 17 years across many sectors including the arts, music, retail, lifestyle and corporate. It’s this eye for design, gained through years of study and practice that allows Caledonian Cowgirl to provide clients with such a high level of service and we wanted to find out more about their latest on trend designs!

“There are many ways to make an impression and set the scene to an event, and one of the most important ways to do so is through invitations. An invitation is often the first touchpoint for an event, so it has to embody the essence of what you’re trying to achieve. By sending out the perfect invitation it let your guests know that they’re in for a unique experience from the very beginning.

One of the most important elements involved is working closely with the client to make sure that the invitation mirrors the style of the event. Not every couple is looking for ribbons and bows, so we like to show them that there are ways to make their stationery stand out by using processes such as letterpress, foil stamping and selecting the perfect paper.  As a graphic designer, I love to experiment with papers and different printing processes. One of my absolute favourites is hot foil stamping. Many people believe that you’re limited to gold or silver when it comes to foil, but the truth is that you can have any colour under the sun! I personally used a hot pink foil for my own Wedding invitations.

Another option to add a bit of sparkle without blowing the budget on foiling is to use pearlescent papers. Or if you’re looking for something more rustic, then kraft papers are very popular at the moment.

I’m always looking for things that are a bit different, and earlier this year I launched a Wedding newspaper product. This is perfect as an alternative to an order of service, but could just as easily be used as an invitation. These are printed by a traditional newspaper printers onto newsprint, and can be customised with whatever information you like. You can even add a crossword if you want, perfect if you’re looking for something unique!

In an industry where they are scores of suppliers of varying styles, it’s important to be able to stand out from the crowd. Last year I experimented wth laser engraving onto wood. This is perfect for couples looking for a truly rustic theme, and can be used for invitations, table plans and names, or anything else you want.

We focus on using the best of materials, choosing fonts and colour schemes to create the perfect finished Wedding stationery. We use professional printers to print and finish all jobs to ensure they are of the highest quality.”
